The Manchester Arena has hosted many memorable sporting events since opening its doors for the first time in 1995.
Now, preparations are well underway for the city centre venue to stage the last major taekwondo event before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
From Wednesday, May 15 to Sunday, May 19, nearly 1,000 of the planet’s best fighters will compete in front of a lively crowd to be be crowned a World Champion. This is the first time this competition has been held in the UK and it’s one not to be missed!
A New Schedule – The Breakdown…
Unlike most previous tournaments in the UK, spectators will potentially receive two opportunities to support their favourite athletes.
The action will take place on seven courts from the last 128 through to the quarter-finals with semi-finals and final being played out on the show court.
To ensure athletes are in the best possible condition for one of the most important fights of their lives, all finals will then take place in the evening of the following day’s action – with the exception of Sunday where attendees will be treated to SEVEN final matches.
